3% Hydrogen Peroxide and L-lysine on .?

Ok, today i mixed the 3% hydrogen peroxide and L-lysine powder together to make a paste, I then applied the paste directly onto my cold sore, a few mins later my cold sore seems to grow a bit and turned more red, any suggestions about whats going on and if its helping my cold sore go away better?
