Why dont crazed gunmen ever go to a military base, local PD, or NRA convention instead of gun-free school zone

They may be crazy, but they're never stupid enough to pull this nonsense where the chances are good they will encounter other people with guns. So if everyone else, even the crazies, can understand this, what makes libs so dense?
